Mr Andreas Knobloch studied Geology at Technical University BergakademieFreiberg and South Dakota School of Mines and Technology from 1998 to 2004. He joined Beak Consultants GmbH in 2005 and has been a project manager for various mineral exploration projects. Between 2005 and 2009, he has been involved in the mineral resource management and information system development in Kosovo. Between 2011 and 2015, he worked in Rwanda for detailed survey and exploration in prospective mineral target areas. Besides this, he has worked in other mineral-related projects in Uganda, Namibia and DR Congo. Between 2018 and 2022, he has been working in Nigeria for monitoring artisanal and small scale mining activities using Sentinel-2 satellite images with artificial intelligence. He has been leading and coordinating the work package “Data Fusion” of the H2020-funded project “NEXT”, and is currently leading the work package “Data Integration & Applications” of the H2020-funded project “GOLDENEYE”, and the work package for “Toolkit Development” of the HEU-funded project “EIS –Exploration Information System”.
