Born in Italy in 1981, in 2006 Simone Manfredi obtained his Master degree in Environmental Engineering and in 2009 his Ph.D. at the department of Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Denmark with a thesis on “environmental assessment of solid waste management systems”. He joined the European Commission (EC) Joint Research Centre (JRC) in 2009, where, since 2014 he acted as project leader of the Raw Materials Information System (RMIS), the EC’s reference knowledge platform on sustainable raw materials supply and value chains.
